Welcome to Of Matter (ofmatter.uk). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase of any products from our online boutique. By accessing our site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. General Information
Of Matter is an independent jewellery studio based in London, United Kingdom. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Of Matter.
2. Product Accuracy & Handcrafted Nature
Each of our jewellery pieces is handcrafted from natural textures, metals, and stones. Due to the unique artisanal making process, slight variations in texture, surface marking, and stone coloration are natural characteristics of the piece and are celebrated as part of its unique identity. We make every effort to display the colors and dimensions of our products as accurately as possible.
3. Pricing & Payment
- All prices on the website are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP £) unless otherwise indicated.
- We reserve the right to modify prices or discontinue items at any time without prior notice.
- Payment must be made in full at the time of placing an order through our secure checkout options.
4. Order Acceptance & Contract
Upon placing an order, you will receive an automated order confirmation email. This email confirms receipt of your order but does not constitute formal acceptance. The contract of sale is finalized once your order has been dispatched with tracking confirmation.
5. Delivery, Returns & Cancellations
We do not offer voluntary returns or exchanges beyond rights required by applicable law. Statutory cancellation and faulty-goods rights, applicable time limits, return costs and qualifying exceptions are explained on our Shipping & Returns page. No provision excludes mandatory rights to a repair, replacement, return or refund. This change applies to orders placed after publication on 9 September 2026 and does not reduce rights or promises applying to earlier orders.
International orders: import charges and clearance
Unless expressly included or collected at checkout, destination import VAT/GST, duties and carrier clearance fees are payable by the customer where applicable, separately from delivery charges. Recipients must cooperate with lawful destination customs requests and provide required recipient information. Of Matter supplies accurate sender customs documentation and complies with its own legal and carrier obligations. Where prepayment is required, any additional amount will be disclosed for your agreement before dispatch. See Shipping & Returns for customs delays, returned parcels and prepaid-duty arrangements. Nothing in these provisions limits your mandatory consumer rights.
Customs non-cooperation: Failure to comply with lawful recipient customs requests or pay applicable import charges after notice can result in delay, return, seizure or lawful destruction. Where destruction is confirmed to be solely attributable to that failure, any refusal or reduction of a refund is subject to applicable law and limited to evidenced, legally recoverable net losses, not an automatic penalty. Our own errors and your mandatory consumer rights are excluded from this limitation. Read the customs cooperation and destruction warning for the full conditions.
6. Intellectual Property
All content included on this website—including jewellery designs, text, graphics, logos, images, digital artwork, and code—is the property of Of Matter and is protected by UK and international copyright and intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction, modification, or distribution is strictly prohibited.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by English law, Of Matter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our website or products.
8. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and any separate agreements shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to your order. Nothing in these terms deprives a consumer of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in courts available to them under applicable law.
